Day 6 - Amalfi (Italy)
There is Amalfi and then there is Italy! This expression perfectly illustrates why Amalfi and its coastline have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.  It was already the Riviera at the time of the Roman Empire! So much beauty in one site... Amalfi, a former maritime and medieval power, was influenced by the Orient. Its 9th century San Andréa cathedral is an illustration of its rich heritage. Artists and travellers have fallen under the spell of Amalfi and Ravello that lie as if suspended in a bouquet of flowers and greenery, dominating the luminous blue of the Mediterranean, under the watchful gaze of Vesuvius !

8:00 am

2:00 pm

Day 7 - Naples (Italy)
Naples is the jewel of the Campania region and is home to magnificent ancient palaces, sumptuous baroque churches and countless romantic palaces. The unrivalled historical, artistic and cultural riches of its old quarter earned it UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 1995. Not far from here, the ruins of Pompeii offer a grandiose and moving vision of what a Roman city would have looked like during the Empire. The city slumbering under its blanket of ash has revealed its objects, homes and in particular its painted pastel frescoes that are almost totally intact. The beauty of the site has seen it added to the UNESCO World Heritage list.
