biblical trails on a boat trip on the Sea of Galilee* and in Jerusalem* and Bethlehem*. Explore the
myth of the labyrinth in Knossos* or take a stroll in Crete’s couloir* and soak up the natural
beauty of the island. Set out from Kusadasi on a tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of
Ephesus*. In Priene, Miletus and Didyma*, you can gain exciting insights into ancient history with
temples of Athena, an oracle sanctuary and a vast theatre.

Limassol/Cyprus-

Day 2 -
Haifa/Israel, 7:00 am – 9:00 pm |
Haifa is a pearl on the Mediterranean. Impressively nestled between
Mount Carmel and long sandy beaches, it is brimming with sights like the Bahai
Shrine and its golden dome. Setting out from Haifa, travel to the ancient royal
town of Caesarea*, where the ruins reflect the glory of the Roman Empire. Follow
the trail of the Bible in Nazareth and on a boat trip on the Sea of Galilee*, the
lowest freshwater lake in the world. Alternatively, enhance your experience on
Haifa with impressive gardens and fine wines*. |
Day 3 -
Ashdod/Israel, 6:00 am – 7:00 pm |
The roots of
Ashdod date back to the 12th century, and the city will be your starting
point for a trip to the fortress of Masada*, which to this day remains a symbol of
freedom for Israel. It towers high above the Dead Sea* where, after your detour
into Jewish history, you can actually float on the surface of the water.
Alternatively, discover a number of the most important cities of Christianity in
Jerusalem* and Bethlehem* – from the Garden of Gethsemane to the Church of the Holy
Sepulchre to the birthplace of Jesus. Or, take a different kind of tip and explore*
Tel Aviv on a Segway. |
Day 4 - Port
Said/Egypt, 5:00 am– 9:00 pm |
One day later on your
programme, you will encounter the highlights of Egypt: setting out from
Port
Said,
visit the legendary Pyramids of Giza* and the Sphinx – either combined with a visit
to the Egyptian Museum* in Cairo, an atmospheric Nile safari or an unforgettable
camel ride and an off-road drive*. |
Day 5 - Relaxation

Day 6 -
Heraklion/Crete/Greece, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm |
Afterwards, the EUROPA 2
will set sail for Heraklion and Crete. Explore the myth of the labyrinth in Knossos* or take a stroll
in Crete’s couloir* and soak up the natural beauty of the island. Great discoveries
also await you in Asia Minor. CHILDREN’S EXCURSION: An experience for all horse lovers. We will
take a carriage ride* on Crete. After that, we’ll have a picnic in the natural
surroundings and get ready for more adventures. |
Day 7 -
Marmaris/Turkey, 8:00 – 6:00 pm |
Following a relaxing day
at sea, you can discover the lively little city Marmaris
– an important trade hub in
classical antiquity – with its long port promenade. An off-road vehicle tour* to
the hinterland offers you marvellous views of the landscape and the coast.
Alternatively, you may wish to experience tangible history by visiting the ruins of
Kaunos* - the sight of the famous rock tombs and a boat trip on Lake Koycegiz
amidst a unique scenery augur unforgettable moments. CHILDREN'S EXCURSION: Today will be all about having lots of fun
on the hotel beach of Icmeler*! Here we can enjoy ourselves building sandcastles
and playing exciting games. And perhaps we might even dare dip our toes into the
cool sea? |
Day 8 -
Kusadasi/Turkey, 8:00 – 4:00 pm |
Set out from
Kusadasi on a tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site
of Ephesus*. In Priene, Miletus and Didyma*, you can gain exciting insights into
ancient history with temples of Athena, an oracle sanctuary and a vast
theatre.
TEENS’ EXCURSION: Setting out from Kusadasi, you
get to learn about history in a completely different way*. Touring Ephesus, the
ruins of monumental structures pay testament to the age of the
Romans. |
Day 9 -
Volos/Greece, 7:00 am –5:00 pm |
Near Volos you can see some amazing constructions: the Meteora
monasteries* were built several centuries ago hundreds of metres high up on huge
rock pillars. Visit the nuns and monks in their breathtaking homes, and you will be
given some exclusive insights into life behind the monastery walls. Or you can take
a hike on Mount Pelion*. If you prefer to travel in comfort, the 100-year old
narrow-gauge railway* will take you over viaducts and through the magnificent
mountain scenery. |
Day 10 - Piraeus
(Athens)/Greece, arrival 7:00 am |
Your cruise will come to
an end in Piraeus – but it will long remain a memory. |
