Eternal Spring on the Canary Islands:
Lisbon, Portugal to Funchal (Madeira), Portugal
MS Europa 2 Voyage 1435 - November 16-25, 2014
Depart from Lisbon, the pearl of Portugal, to spend a day of relaxation at sea before taking in the
legendary city of Casablanca. Rabat* and Marrakech* will appear like a tale from 1,001 Nights.
Explore the world of jugglers, snake-charmers and storytellers – all the while enjoying the
fragrance of exotic spices. Taroudant*, known as “little Marrakech”, has mighty city walls and the
Canary Islands not only play home to national parks, but also colonial architecture, cathedrals,
flower-covered wooden balconies and the works of famous island artists. To round off your cruise,
bid farewell to the EUROPA 2 off the “flower island” of Madeira.
The highlights of this cruise:
- Royal cities of Morocco: Rabat* and Marrakesh*.
- Hikes* in unique natural surroundings: in Canadas del Teide* on Tenerife and in the El
Cedro rainforest* on Gomera.
- On board: Estrella Del Mar – lounge and chill-out music at the pool.
- Golf & Cruise with our comprehensive package*.
*These arrangements are not covered by the cruise price. The on-shore activities listed are in
the planning stage. Subject to changes.

Casablanca/Morocco - 7:00 am - 6:00 pm |
Your first destination is
the legendary city of Casablanca. Wander along the bustling Corniche or

Mosque, a majestic building with fine mosaics. Rabat* is just like from a tale
from 1,001 Nights: visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, built with Italian marble
in the Arabian-Andalusian style. Alternatively, take a cross-country trip to
Marrakech*. The East opens up like out of a picture book on the famous Djemaa el
Fna, with jugglers, snake-charmers and storytellers, whilst the aromas of exotic
spices greet you in the labyrinth of souks. |
Day 4 -
Agadir/Morocco, 12:30 pm – 7:00 pm |
On the following day,
re-embark in Agadir. It is not far from here to Taroudant*, also known as “little

sight. |
Day 5 -
Arrecife/Lanzarote/Canary Islands/Spain, 12:00 pm – 7:00

Take a trip in off-road
vehicles* and discover traditional fishing villages, cliffs and wonderful beaches
before the EUROPA 2 sets sail for Arrecife – your starting point for exploring the
bizarre countryside of Lanzarote. Timanfaya National Park* features
fascinating solidified magma flows and hot craters. Following the footsteps of
the island artist César Manrique*, experience the symbiosis of art and nature, or
take a kayak tour along the coast* and discover hidden bays. Afterwards, enjoy
Canarian flair in Santa Cruz. Take a break in the cafes and on benches beneath
trees as tall as a house on the Rambla del Franco. |

Cruz/Tenerife/Canary Islands/Spain - 7:00 am - 10:00 pm |

pm |
On La
Palma,
explore the small port city of Santa Cruz de la Palma with its Spanish colonial
architecture and wooden balconies covered in flowers, known as
balcones
tipicos.
Marvel at the breathtaking landscape of one of the world’s largest erosion craters
in Caldera de Taburiente National Park*. Alternatively, enjoy some driving pleasure
in a buggy* and drive through woods and lush vegetation, away from the
hard-surfaced roads. Or, leave your cares behind on the beach of Los
Cancajos*. |
