MV Aegean Odyssey

Deck Plan

Sun-Filled Glades and Sweet Madeira

Malaga to Malaga
November 5-19, 2015

In 1951, Winston Churchill wanted to retreat somewhere ‘warm, bathable, comfortable and flowery’ where he could paint and work on his war memoirs. Wisely, he chose Madeira. During your visit you will see Camara de Lobos, one of the villages that inspired Churchill to paint, and also have enough free time to explore the famous Botanical Gardens.

Sail from the historical Spanish mainland port of Cadiz, and afterwards head to the Canary Islands, where you will travel to the Caldera de Taburiente National park and journey deep inland to Fuerteventura – a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve – with its historic churches and rugged landscapes.

Before reaching Morocco and a chance to experience Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier and Marrakesh, plus the exciting city of Taroudant, there is time to call at the port of El Marsa. From here you will venture into the sand dunes of the Western Sahara desert and experience one of the great wildernesses of the world.

SmallShips.travel | Aegean Odyssey | Istanbul-Venice September 13 2015

Grand Highlights of the Ancient World

Istanbul to Venice
September 13–October 7, 2015

Istanbul has played a central role in the history of Western civilization and, as a result, is home to some spectacular buildings and monuments. Turkey’s Aegean coast is dotted with breathtakingly beautiful ancient sites including Ephesus and Patara. Ephesus contains the largest collection of Roman ruins in the eastern Mediterranean and the well-preserved ruins give some idea of the city’s original splendor and the lives of its inhabitants. Patara is said to be the birthplace of Apollo and was one of the most important Roman harbors in the Mediterranean. The remains of an amphitheater that once held over 10,000 spectators is testament to Patara’s eminence in ancient times.

Then sail through the glorious Greek islands to sacred Delos, Crusader Rhodes and stunning Santorini. As Aegean Odyssey travels between two great historical cities, Athens and Venice, she takes you on a journey to the best natural and historic wonders in the Mediterranean. These include Split, home to the impressive Palace of Diocletian, Dubrovnik on the Dalmatian coast, and the well-preserved Graeco-Roman settlement of Butrint in Albania.

Constantinople… The Empire of the World

Athens to Istanbul
August 23 – September 7, 2015
